Welcome

To the Website of the Rotary Club of  Newark

Our site is designed to provide information and support to three main constituents. Firstly those that do not know much about Rotary and who may be interested in finding out more and possibly becoming involved. Secondly to existing Rotarians who are visiting or relocating to   Newark    and would like to meet our members and / or attend our meetings. Our final constituent is our club’s members, who now number over 40.

Links

The links page on this site provides links to many sites that may be of interest to members and non-members. However it cannot be altered by the Club. As a consequence, other links that are useful to members and the local community are contained at the bottom of this page.

If you are new to Rotary

Perhaps the first thing you should know about Rotary is that it exists for one primary goal – to do good. The simplicity of this goal and how we go about pursuing it is what binds and motivates our members. If this interests you, and you think it may enrich your life, then you can read more in About Rotary and the links from that section or elsewhere on this site. In addition, you are most welcome to contact one of our club officials identified on About Our Club to find out more. We would be delighted to meet you but in any event, we thank you for showing an interest in Rotary and The Rotary Club of Newark.

For visiting Rotarians

If you are visiting or indeed relocating to   Newark  , we would love to meet you. We meet at lunch (12.00 midday for 12.30 pm) once a fortnight at the  Deincourt Hotel, London Road, Newark Nottinghamshire NG24 1TF (+44 (0)1636 602100) . We also meet formally for our Charter (anniversary of foundation) in February (normally the second Thursday), and less formally on the last Monday evening of each quarter (the fifth Monday), usually with partners. The Club Calendar section of this site provides you with more information. If you can come to a meeting just contact the secretary, and failing that any of the other officials identified on the About our Club page, by using the Rotary Directory.  Newark  Rotary  Club was founded in 1924 with the guidance of   Nottingham Rotary Club.   Newark  is blessed with two Rotary Clubs, ours and our daughter club  Newark Castle . In addition, there is a daughter club in  Southwell , an ancient Minster town some 7 miles away.   The  Inner Wheel Club of Newark   has close associations with our club and meets on the second Monday of each month at 7.00pm at The Red House Hotel at Kelham  .
