RCHV's 22nd annual Charter Night - Hassop Hall

Each June the Rotary Club of Hope Valley celebrate the year they were 'chartered' as a Rotary Club, by holding a banquet dinner. By tradition this event is now held at Hassop Hall. In celebration of the club's 22nd anniversary, Hope Valley College students Giacomo Barile and Hazel Watson 'sang for their supper' for 98 Hope Valley Rotarians and guests.  The charter evening was divided into three parts. The four course banquet dinner; Hazel & Giacomo singing a medley of songs; speeches and presentations.

Our 2012/13 Rotary Club President, Dr Allen Hutchinson, had asked Hope Valley College if they could provide a duo of singers to entertain Rotarians and guests for his charter night. The charter night was a real success, enjoyed by one all.  But the stars of the night were the HVC team, with Hazel and Giacomo enthralling the audience with their musical skills, ably assisted by pianist Andrea Wright and their choir teacher Joanna Mackey. There was a standing ovation for the two young stars after they had finished their last song, confirming that the musical interlude was the 'hit of the night'. The talented duo of Giacomo and Hazel can be justifiably proud of their singing and their ambassadorial skills representing Hope Valley College.
