Double August celebrations for Hope Valley's RC

Chris Hallam & John Craike join Hope Valley Rotary Club

Heavy rain didn't dampen the spirits of Hope Valley Rotarians as they turned out in force to welcome two new members to our Rotary Club.

Chris Hallam, a sound engineer who works in television and filming has visited our Club regulalry over the past months. But August 1st was a big day for Chris and our Club, as Chris was formally inducted as a Rotarian.  President Dr Allen Hutchinson performed the formal ceremony, then welcomed Chris  (a former member of Rotoract) as a member of the Rotary Club of Hope Valley.

John Craike, an accountant who lives in Hathersage, was also formally welcomed as a member of the Rotary Club of Hope Valley. John joined the Rotary Club of Sheffield Hallam twenty two years ago, and rose to become District Governor of District 1270. President Allen and members of our Club warmly welcomed John - who through his Rotary experience has much to offer to the community through Rotary. John said how pleased he was to transfer to our Club, remarking that from his very first visit he had been struck by the friendly welcome he'd received from Hope Valley Rotarians.
