Welcome

Welcome to our Home Page

Welcome to the Home Page of the Rotary Club of Derby

We welcome business and professional men and women, including those who have retired. New members are introduced by other members or they can apply directly to the Secretary.

The Rotary year is from July 1st to June 30th and the meetings are run by the Club President, assisted by other Officers and Club Council.  The President is in office for only one year, giving the chance for others to undertake this prestigious position and prevent the role from becoming too onerous.

Club Meetings

These are held every Monday Lunchtime at 12.40pm (except Bank Holidays) in the Lund Pavilion at the Derbyshire Cricket Ground, Nottingham Road, Derby.  Great fellowship and fun is enjoyed at these meetings by the 60 Rotarians in the Club. The meetings finish at 2.00pm. Where there is a 5th Monday in the month we meet with our partners in the evening at 7.30pm when we usually enjoy a longer illustrated talk.

Except when there is a business meeting, we have a speaker, who might be a Club Member but more usually is an external speaker describing their work, their charity or some unusual activity in which they have been involved.

Aims Of The Club

As with all Rotary Clubs throughout the world, our aims are to encourage fun and fellowship within the membership, to support humanitarian and educational projects at home and internationally and to encourage world peace and understanding.
