Welcome to Rotary

Bulwell & Basford Rotary Club represents Rotary International in the Bulwell, Basford, Nuthall & Kimberley areas of Nottingham. Rotary International is the biggest voluntary service organisation in the world with its 1.2 million members in more than 200 countries and geographical areas.
We have a large and varied social programme, and involve ourselves in interesting projects particularly those that focus on help in the community. The club has many interesting projects locally, nationally and internationally. We are particularly excited about our new Memory Café, which started in Bulwell in April 2015. We will give Dictionaries for Life again to several school leavers in our area and are forging contacts with a local secondary school to promote Rotary youth projects.
Internationally we have supported sewing machine and housing Projects in India, delivering much needed sewing machines to Below Poverty Line women in a very poor part of Kerala. This will enable them to make a living and improve their lifestyle. The housing project provides much needed accommodation and shelter for the needy. There is much more to tell so why not join us at a meeting, you are always very welcome?
These, together with the usual charitable work we do in the community, define Bulwell & Basford Rotary Club as being a very proactive club.
If you think you could make a difference and you want to make a difference then come along and join us. There is no obligation - it is your decision to join. If there is one of our projects suitable for you to help us with, or indeed you may have one you think we could help you with, then do contact us via the website. Or come along to one of our meetings at the Westminster Hotel and discover at first hand what we and Rotary are all about and what we have achieved.
Please take the time to visit our news pages to get an idea of the working and social things we get up to in the Club - if you want further information please contact us via our "Contact Page" and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If you would like to visit one of our meetings (most Wednesdays 12.15pm) for lunch, we would like to hear from you. We hope to meet you soon

President 2016 - 2017 Bill Smith

Garden Party

The Rotary Club of Bulwell & Basford annual Garden party is at 1.00pm on Sunday 25 June 2017 at  the home of Terry and Val Leivers, Bestwood Lodge Stables, Nottingham NG5 8ND.  We are raising funds to provide a mobile defibrillator to be placed in Ellis Guilford School for school and local community use. This is in memory of our late member, John Martin who passed away suddenly just 2 days after last year’s event. A plaque dedicated to John will be placed in the school gym.

We suggest a donation of just £10 per head, which is eligible for Gift Aid. Soft drinks will be provided but please bring your own alcohol, glasses and CHAIRS! The rain has been ordered to stay away this year but all gazebos are most welcome just in case we need to keep out of the hot sun! Please reserve your place with Terry Leivers before Monday 19 June 2017.

Email: terryleivers@yahoo.co.uk or telephone 07814 350 072.
