OUTWARD BOUND, ULLSWATER 14th - 18th APRIL 2008

Carlton Rotary Club sponsors Outward Bound Course for Local Youngsters.

A group of 24 students aged between 14 & 15, sponsored by the Rotary of Carlton, attended an Outward Bound Course at the Ullswater Outward Bound Centre in the Lake District from April 14th to 18th

The students were selected from the 3 local secondary schools of Carlton Le Willows, The Gedling School & Frank Wheldon School.

The students found the course tough but rewarding, experiencing fell walking, canoeing, raft building, abseiling and rock climbing. They also undertook an overnight expedition where they camped, cooked outdoors and learned field crafts.

The club is very proud to have now sponsored over 100 local youngsters on such courses during the last six years, and look forward to continuing during 2009.
