| As community fundraiser for the children’s charity When You Wish Upon a Star, l would like to offer my services to your organisation as a guest speaker | Maggie Falconer | Charitable | |
| As community fundraiser for the children’s charity When You Wish Upon a Star, l would like to offer my services to your organisation as a guest speaker. This year we are very excited to be celebrating our 18th Birthday. For the past 18 years When You Wish Upon a Star has been granting Wishes of children across the UK, all of whom have a life threatening illness. Wishes are varied and often far reaching. For some it is a trip to Disneyland to meet their favourite characters or swim with dolphins, for others it is the chance to get up close to a favourite pop star or sporting hero. Some children just want special toys, whilst others want a computer to catch up on school work, or keep in touch with their friends. Whatever the Wish, wherever possible, When You Wish Upon a Star will aim to make that Wish come true. We rely so much on the hard work and generosity of our supporters and l would be more than happy to come along to your event/meeting to tell you more about our charity When You Wish Upon a Star. Your help and support can make a real difference. If you are interested in finding out more about the work of When You wish Upon a Star and would like to arrange a talk please contact me. | |||

| The scholars are willing and available to speak to clubs about their lives and their countries. Visiting your club will help them to fulfil their obligation to the Rotary Foundation. All requests for scholars to speak must be made through the Counsellors. Each scholar is required by Rotary International to complete between 10 and 15 presentations to both Rotary and Inner Wheel clubs. It is important that all clubs become involved. | Professional after dinner speaker - widow of the late Dr Fred Dibnah MBE. | Sheila Dibnah | Professional | |
| Please allow me to introduce myself. I am the widow of the late Dr Fred Dibnah MBE, steeplejack and television presenter — and of course, Great British Eccentric! I now work as a professional guest speaker, usually for ladies luncheon groups and WI Federation meetings around the country, and work also as an after dinner speaker. I have also been very successful at presenting my own show 'Life With Steeplejack Fred' in various small theatres over the past two years. I did a speaking engagement for Birstall Rotary Club this year, booked by the President Ian Blamiers, which went down very well. I am a seasoned entertainer by profession. If this is of any interest, please contact my agent, Jennie Storr of 'The Speakers Agency' on 01522 522620 who will be happy to have a chat about what I do, and since Jennie particularly specialises in guest speakers, you might regularly turn up a few gems for your events! In the meantime, you may like to look at my website www.fredtalks.co.uk - to see what I am capable of presenting. All my talks are a respectful look at life with 'Our Fred' and do not offend or carry anything objectionable in content, and can be more or less 'tailor made' to suit the venue (for instance, a presentation for a mostly male orinentated audience at annual engineering dinner would be quite different from a meeting consisting of lady memebers at a large federation meeting of the W.I.) I currently provide a choice of three talks- 'Steeplejack Fred' 'Christmas with the Dibnahs' 'Hypnotic Phanstasy - my life as a showgirl' I am now taking bookings for the 2009 season and If I can answer any questions for you at this stage, please do not hesitate to contact me. | |||

| Protecting assets from care fees and inheritance tax. New Lasting Powers of Attorney | Julie Smith | ||
| I gave a talk a few weeks ago to the Ashfield branch about the use of wills and trusts to protect assets from care fees and to maximise inheritance tax allowances. I also spoke about the implications of the changes to the law on inheritance tax last October and the need to review existing wills and trusts. In addition I talked about the new Lasting Powers of Attorney and how they can be used. You can speak to Phil Renshaw or Michael Longdon if you want to know how I went down! (Phil will be rude and funny, of course, but I’m assured it’s a sign of affection!) | |||
