Nottingham Philharmonic concert

Central Group are once again co-ordinating the District Rotary Concert in aid of the “End Polio Now” campaign. The Nottingham Philharmonic Orchestra offer Rotary a very special opportunity to benefit financially from the concert to be held on Saturday 6th March 2010. Once the NPO have covered their expenses all the profit is donated to our designated charity. That means that members, family and friends can enjoy an excellent evenings entertainment in the knowledge that they will be contributing directly to the Polio campaign.
The attached leaflet details the programme for the concert. We have secured prime seating positions in the circle and the stalls. Tickets cost £15 for the circle and £10 for the stalls.
Please send your requests for tickets directly to David Pedlar at 284 Derby Road, Bramcote, Notts NG9 3JN with a cheque made payable to Rotary District 1220 Central Group to cover the cost. Tickets will be sent in advance of the evening.
Come and enjoy Rotary's own evening of music at the Royal Concert Hall and help support District 1220 to meet the Polio Challenge.

Thanks for Life

Thanks for LifeThe Health Editor of The Guardian, Sarah Bosely, recently flew out to Lucknow, India, with a party of 86 RIBI Rotarians taking part in a National Immunisation Day, as reported in RIBI News 19/11/09, to see for herself Rotary's immense input into the polio eradication programme and the many challenges being faced. Sarah's report has been published in The Guardian and is available online.
BBC TV presenter Konnie Huq was also on the NID trip, along with a film crew. Her report is on the BBC website and a hard-hitting DVD of the trip has been sent to the President of each Club for use in their Thanks for Life activities. Ask to see it!
