DG Visits

I am pleased to report that I have now completed all but 2 of my club visits. At each club I have been well received and I would like to thank all the clubs and their members for the way I have been received. The remaining 2 clubs will be visited during the next 3 weeks.

The Charter season has now started and I have attended 13 of the 14 Charters so far. Unfortunately I could not attend Clay Cross as I was at D1250 Conference in Folkestone. Each have been excellent dinners. Thank you all for your hospitality and friendship
When the Chesterfield Club requested some help for the flooding in their vicinity it was tremendously well supported not only with money and I know they have written to each club to thank them.

You have also responded well to the national and Yorkshire appeals. Well done D1220 a big thank you from me for the response. You will be updated on progress.

Conference 2007

Thank you all for your kind words and messages about our conference. I really enjoyed the weekend and from the feedback received I believe all the delegates did so to. I believe we owe a great debt of gratitude to Conference Director John Hall and the Conference Committee. An event like that does not happen without a great deal of work. So on behalf of the whole District please accept our thanks John and the team.

Having visited District 1250 conference in Folkestone with 600 delegates it gave me the opportunity to compare conferences. I really enjoyed the experience at their conference and have learned from them and will pass on some ideas to next year’s conference committee. I had the opportunity to meet Richard Stilgo and Damon Hill who were both speakers at Folkestone too so that was an interesting opportunity.
