Virus Advice
Be vigilant about viruses.
Never open any attachment before you have scanned it with good, up-to-date virus
software. Make sure your machine is protected by good up to date anti-virus
protection. Update your anti-virus software at least once a week.
Unless absolutely essential do not send attachments over the District 1220 mail
system. A better option is to have it published to the District website and then
send a link. Contact the Webmaster if you would like to do this.
Beware of virus hoaxes
- as much a problem as viruses. Never act on an email warning of a virus without
checking with your anti-virus software provider first.
A recent email virus hoax has caused many people to delete essential files from
their computer systems causing as much, if not more damage than a real virus.
